March 13, 2020 - ROCHESTER, NY – Brighton Securities, a Rochester NY based Financial Services firm, today announced that we continue to closely monitor developments with respect to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We have been taking steps to ensure the safety and wellness of our employees, reviewing business continuity plans, prudently evaluating the need and attendance at group gatherings and we have been working to implement client/visitor guidelines for those coming to our locations.

In addition, effective immediately we are implementing the following policies in line with the CDC’s guidance for business and employers.  These policies are being put in place to protect both our employees and clients, many of whom may be at risk if they contract the Coronavirus.

  • Employees that show any symptoms of the Coronavirus (fever, dry cough, exhaustion, shortness of breath, sore throat, headaches, muscle aches, chills, runny nose, vomiting or diarrhea) are being asked to work from home until they are symptom free for 5-7 days
  • Employees should wash their hands at regular intervals for at least 20 seconds at a time throughout the day
  • Any employees traveling to and from at risk countries will be required to work from home for 5 days post-return to ensure they are symptom free
  • We ask that all clients follow the same guidelines.  If you are showing symptoms, consider conducting an over the phone or virtual meeting instead of physically meeting face to face

We have also established a team that is working to determine any additional appropriate precautions which should be taken on an ongoing basis. This team will help guide our actions in responding to a potential global outbreak including measures to reduce spread of the illness and maintaining business continuity through remote access for employees and maintaining consistent client-advisor communication.

Our team has been working to ensure that your advisor is able to monitor your account and stay in contact with you no matter where you both are.  To that end, each of our employees has access to their office phone, email, trading system, and digital files from any place they may need to work.

We realize this situation remains very dynamic. We will continue to provide updates as we learn more. We are confident in our preparation and contingency planning for situations such as this.
